IN PRODUCTION

Foundations of Freedom
Rebuilding Ground Zero

PBS Premiere in September 2006

Foundations of Freedom picks up where Great Projects' America Rebuilds: A Year at Ground Zero left off. American Rebuilds, which premiered on PBS on September 10, 2002, and was narrated by Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey, documented the epic clean-up of the site and introduced the hotly-contested rebuilding process. Time wanted "more coverage that looked forward, like the PBS documentary America Rebuilds," and New York Newday's Marvin Kitman said it was "the one show I will be watching."

Now comes the next chapter.

Foundations of Freedom will document the ingenuity and skill required to rebuild at Ground Zero. Despite the political turmoil that has stymied some work, already in operation are the temporary station and trains that carry 60,000 New York-New Jersey commuters. Work continues on the dramatic new train station (shown), memorial, and Freedom Tower. Foundations of Freedom will follow these stories from the inside. Great Projects continues to have unrivaled access to the site and its engineers.

A third program in the America Rebuilds trilogy will follow the construction of the buildings and memorial at Ground Zero until their completion, planned for 2009.

The Trial of Saddam Hussein
A major documentary for PBS

Great Projects is developing The Trial of Saddam Hussein under a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The program will show how the trials of Saddam and his top aides will test Iraq's new justice system and may help to reconcile Iraq's legacy of dictatorship, crime, war, and occupation. It will also explore the ethical, and moral issues at the heart of the trials of Saddam and his aides.

People, Places, Traffic:
A Half-Century of Interstates

A PBS documentary for broadcast in June 2006

For the 50 years, America's Interstate Highway System has transformed the way we live. And it will continue to change us over the next 50.

People, Places, Traffic will explore the lives of the people who dreamed of the interstates, built the interstates, transformed America, and are now planning for a less-congested future. It will take us both back in time-to a world before the interstates-and into the future-to a safer, smarter, more environmentally-friendly, and less congested interstate.
